Jacques Gravier

Jacques Gravier, (17 May 1651 – 17 April 1708), was a Jesuit missionary in the New World.
Father Gravier carried out important tasks for the Jesuits including the founding of the Illinois mission, first proposed by Jacques Marquette. In 1696 he was named Superior of the Missions among the Ottawa, the Illinois, the Miami, and others. Bishop Saint-Vallier (La Croix), the Bishop of Quebec, named him vicar general of these missions.
