Jacques Debris
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jacques Debris is a fictional French race car driver whose name is euphemistically used to indicate the presence of debris on the racing surface.[1] Often, when a caution flag is displayed for debris on the racing surface, a veteran race fan will sometimes explain to a neophyte that the caution was caused by "Jacques Debris". The term is also often used by racing announcers.
In 1951, a racer entered himself in a German Formula Three race under the pseudonym "Jacques Debris".[2]
