From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jacques-Michel Hurel de Lamare (May 1, 1772 – March 27, 1823) was a noted French cellist.
Hurel de Lamare was born in Paris. He studied cello with Jean-Louis Duport, and in 1794 he became cellist at the Theatre Feydeau in Paris. From 1801 through 1809 he toured Germany and Russia, and retired in 1815. Four cello concertos published under his name were actually the work of his friend Daniel Auber.
