Jacqueline Burgin Painter

Jacqueline Burgin Painter is a historian was born and raised in Hot Springs, North Carolina, and now lives in Sylva, North Carolina.
She is the author of The Stackhouses of Appalachia: Even to Our Own Times, The Season of Dorland-Bell: History of an Appalachian Mission School, The German Invasion of Western North Carolina and An Appalachian Medley: Hot Springs & the Gentry Family.
She is a three-time recipient of the "History Book" award from the North Carolina Society of Historians.
