Jacobs F.C.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jacobs FC were an association football club from Dublin that played in the Football League of Ireland during the 1920s and 30s.

Jacobs were actually one of the founder members of the League of Ireland (then known as the Free State League) in 1921. Playing their home games at Rutland Avenue the club saw little success during their eleven seasons in the league before leaving at the end of the 1931/32 season with Brideville as the league dropped down from twelve to ten clubs.

After they left the League of Ireland, Jacobs managed to win the FAI Intermediate Cup in 1950 beating St Patrick's Athletic in the final.
