Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC), a publicly traded company with annual revenues exceeding $8 billion, provides professional technical services. Headquartered in Pasadena, CA, Jacobs offers support to industrial, commercial, and government clients across multiple markets. One of its predecessor companies, Sverdrup & Parcel, designed the ill-fated I-35W Mississippi River bridge, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1964 (Collapsed on August 1, 2007).^[2] Preliminary findngs of the National Transportation Safety Board blame the firm's gusset plate design for the bridge collapse.^[3], ^[4] Sverdup & Parcel was succeeded by Sverdrup Civil, which in 1999 merged with Jacobs Engineering.
