Jacob H. De Witt

Jacob Hasbrouck De Witt (October 2, 1784 - January 30, 1867) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Marbletown, New York, De Witt attended the rural schools and Kingston (New York) Academy. He engaged in agricultural pursuits. He served as adjutant in the War of 1812.

De Witt was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March 4, 1819-March 3, 1821). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1820. He resumed agricultural pursuits. Supervisor of Ulster County in 1827 and again in 1840. He served as member of the State assembly in 1839 and again in 1847. He died in Kingston, New York, January 30, 1867. He was interred in the Sharpe Cemetery, on Albany Avenue.
