Jaclyn Moriarty

Jaclyn Moriarty (born in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian writer of young adult literature.

She studied English at the University of Sydney, and law at Yale University and Cambridge, where she was awarded a PhD. She has published six novels, Cicada Summer, Feeling Sorry for Celia, Finding Cassie Crazy (published as "The Year of Secret Assignments" outside of Australia and the UK.), The Betrayal of Bindy Mackenzie' (published elsewhere as "The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie" and "Being Bindy Mackenzie"), and "I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes". "I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes" was later published as a YA novel known as, "The Spell Book of Listen Taylor". She is married to a Canadian writer Colin McAdam, and has a son, Charlie. She currently divides her time between Sydney and Montreal -(where ever the summer is!)
