Jacksoul, sometimes written jacksoul, is a Canadian band that plays soul, r&b, and jazz music with smooth, funky rhythms and melodies. Each of the band's albums was nominated for a Juno Award, and the group won the award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year in 2001 and 2007. The band won a Canadian Urban Music Award in 2004.
Haydain Neale is the lead singer of Jacksoul. He was involved in a traffic accident on the evening of Friday, August 3, 2007, and was sent to hospital. Shortly thereafter Haydain was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
As of August 18, 2007, Neale is reported to have been in a coma since the accident occurred.
On October 1, 2007, Jacksoul's official site announced that Neale has been making a very promising recovery so far, and continues to be in hospital.
On January 30, 2008, A Spokesperson for the family is happy to report that Haydain Neale continues to improve since the last statement was made. The amazing amount of support continues and the family wish to thank everyone for their cards, e-mails, thoughts and prayers - they find it truly heart-warming.
