The Jackson team is a team of the South Coast League, based in Jackson, Mississippi. The team was created in 2008 with the expansion of the South Coast League, and will receive its name through a name the team contest. The team is not affiliated with Major or Minor League Baseball. The team will play at Smith-Wills Stadium, former home of the Jackson Mets (former Texas League AA affiliate of the New York Mets from 1975-1990), Jackson Generals (former Texas League AA affiliate of the Houston Astros from 1991-1999) and the Jackson Senators (independent and in the Central Baseball League from 2001-2004).
