"Jackie Wilson Said (I'm in Heaven When You Smile)" is the opening tune on Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison's 1972 album, Saint Dominic's Preview. It was released as a single and charted at #61 on the US Hot 100, with the rare B-side "You've Got the Power".
It was inspired by a line in Jackie Wilson's song "Reet Petite".[1] John Collis says this about the song, "The exuberant scat phrase kicking off the first track, "Jackie Wilson Said", hotly pursued by a confident, big band r'n'b arrangement, promises well."[2]
