Jackie Barrett is a psychic medium and author.[1]

Barrett has been working as a medium for 23 years, working with clients and also with law enforcement.[2] She has worked alongside district attorneys, law enforcement, and America's Most Wanted to help solve case files across the United States.[2] Barrett leads paranormal investigations and séances.[3] Barrett is the author of the novel The House That Kay Built.[2] She was a contestant and finalist on Lifetime's America's Psychic Challenge.[1]

Barrett grew up in New Orleans with a mother who was a spiritualist and a father who was a medicine man. She is a psychic medium and spiritualist. She has worked with the television series America's Most Wanted, assisted the police in cold-case files across the United States,[1] Barrett is married and has one daughter. She currently resides in New York.[1] Barrett is a student of various religions including occultist and spirituality.[3]

According to Barrett, she began to understand her psychic ability at age six and began communicating with the dead. She describes her ability as extremely rare and is able to see the past, present, future, and is able to walk with the dead.[1] Barrett is sought after for her unique séances where she allows the guest to communicate with the contacted spirit instead of the traditional séances where only the medium makes contact with the spirit.

Barrett conducted paranormal investigations at various haunted sites throughout the United States including Eastern State Penitentiary, Castle Inn, Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, the Liberace House, and the Queen Mary.

Barrett has appeared on many television shows including The Biography Channel's Perfectly Strange[4], Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment Television, Television of Spain, Fangoria TV's Ghost Stories EVP, WB News - Gold 33 Las Vegas, Fuji Television Network's Wake-Up TV, and Current TV.[3] Most recently, Barrett was a contestant and finalist on Lifetime's America's Psychic Challenge.[1]

Barrett hosted a live séance for the premier of Fangoria Sirius Radio Channel 102.

Barrett was hired by the Scissor Sisters where they hosted a ghost hunt for an interview with US men's magazine Blender. The article appears in Blender's October 2006 issue.[5]
