Jack van der Geest (born 1923) was a member of the Dutch Underground. He was 1 of only 8 people ever to escape from Buchenwald Concentration Camp, and 101st Airborne translator during World War II. He became a US citizen in 1953. In 1995, he wrote a book titled Was God on Vacation? (ISBN 0-964-96152-0). He resides in Rapid City, South Dakota.
