Jack Semple
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jack Semple is a Canadian blues musician from Regina, Saskatchewan.
Starting out his musical career playing with various Regina-based bands, Jack burst onto the Canadian national scene by winning the MuchMusic contest "Guitar Wars" in 1992, where he won the title and garnered many more fans across Canada.
Jack joined the Lincolns after an inspired night jamming with a few members of Red Rider after hours following a gig in Regina. He moved to Toronto briefly to play full-time in the Lincolns, but later returned to the prairies to pursue his solo career and to spend more time with his young family.
Jack's performances are frequently in demand, especially in Western Canada. He tours solo, with favourite guest artist friends, and with "The Jack Semple Band". After his move back to Regina, Jack became more involved in the television and movie score business and even made a brief jump into acting, in the title role of "Guitar Man" in 1994.
Jack continues to perform regular gigs at numerous locales within Regina.
Jack's latest release, "Cool Yule", was widely featured on CBC radio.
