Jack Peter Shepherd (born January 14, 1988) is a British actor. He is best known for portraying David Platt in the ITV1 soap opera Coronation Street. He joined the show in April 2000, taking over the role from Thomas Ormson.

Shepherd was born in Pudsey, Leeds, West Yorkshire, and now lives in Boothstown, Salford. He has taken time out of Coronation Street to do theatre work, including the role of Riff in a production of West Side Story as part of the The Yorkshire School of Performing Arts[1] He has also appeared in Oliver! at Bradford's Alhambra theatre.[citation needed] Recently he appeared in Ghosthunting with Coronation Street On the Isle of Man.

In 2007, he won the Best Bad Boy Award at the Inside Soap Awards and in 2008, he won 'Best Villain' at the British Soap Awards.
