Jack Crompton, (born December 18, 1921 in Manchester), was an English football player. He was a goalkeeper for Manchester United in 1944-1956. He helped United win the 1948 FA Cup and 1952 league championship. Crompton retired in 1956, but remained as goalkeeping coach for many years afterwards and in May 1981 was interim manager between the dismissal of Dave Sexton and the appointment of Ron Atkinson.
Now aged 86, he is one of the oldest surviving former Manchester United players, and one of the last of surviving remembers of United's successful late 1940s/early 1950s side.
Jack currently resides in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
