Detective Sergeant Jack Christey (John Edward Christey) was a fictional character from the police series Water Rats. He was portrayed by Steve Bisley. He was on the show from 1998 to the end in 2001. Jack first appeared on the show as a Detective Senior Constable, but was promoted to Detective Sergeant upon replacing Frank Holloway.

Jack was then partnered with Rachel Goldstein. At first, Rachel and Jack had a tense relationship (mainly in episodes "One for the Social Workers" and "Romeo Is Bleeding") but it then developed into a romantic one that lasted until Rachel was stabbed to death.

Not much was known about his personal life, only that he had never been married, his family included his mum and his sister, and an estranged dad. Jack also found out that he had an 18-year-old daughter named Sophie, from a relationship that ended long ago.

In the final episode of Water Rats, Jack was shot. Although it is not known for sure what happened to him after that, he probably died as Steve Bisley was not returning if the series continued after 2001.
