Jack & Jim

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jack and Jim (Hyperion, 2000 ISBN 0-7868-0614-1) is a children's book about two boy birds that become friends despite opposition from their communities (one is a blackbird and one is a seagull). It is written by Kitty Crowther. The book is both a metaphor for interracial relationships, and is perceived as implying a gay relationship. Due to this assumption many fundamentalist religious people/groups have attacked it; this is similar to the Tinki-Winky controversy. It was rated 5 out of 5 stars on Amazon.com (As of April 29, 2006).
