Jacek Zieliński

Jacek Zieliński (born October 10, 1967 in Wierzbica) is a retired Polish football defender.

He spent almost all his career playing for Legia Warszawa. He was playing in 1/4 of final Champions League in 1995-96.

He played for Polish national team, for which he played 60 matches and scored one goal.

He was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

As of April 13, 2007 he is a temporary manager of Legia Warszawa. He replaced Dariusz Wdowczyk who in 2005 took the job from Zieliński.

In July 2007, Zieliński become a coach of Korona Kielce. He has been cooperating with manager director Paweł Janas.

There is a fact that might be a bit confusing for foreigners, who are not specialists in Polish football. Currently, there are two coaches in Orange Ekstraklasa named Jacek Zieliński. The first is presented here Polish ex-international, born on 1967. However, there is also second Jacek Zieliński, born on 1961, who was not so famous as a player, but has significant coaching achievements - he leaded Górnik Łęczna in 2003 to promotion into premier league, and was chosen by Polish football magazine "Piłka Nożna" as Polish Coach of The Year 2003. Currently (2007), he is working for Groclin Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski.
