Because I'm a dealer in nineteenth-century photography, specializing in portraiture during the 1860's. In fact, I'm the person who sold this particular portrait a couple of years ago - you must have taken the scan from my website. At the time, I thought it was Marie Wilton but I recently acquired another copy of the same photograph, this time correctly identified as Lydia Thompson. I emailed the person who bought the portrait from me and she said that she too had realized since buying it that it was actually Lydia Thompson and not Marie Wilton.

Thanks for the info. I have no idea who uploaded this - not me! Would you kindly edit the Summary description of the image at the image upload page here: Image:Marie wilton.jpg? That way the inaccurate info won't end up someplace else. Thanks! Wikipedia does not have an article on Lydia Thompson yet, and I would think it's about time. If you feel like starting one, let me know and I'll try to help expand it when you're done. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 01:56, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd gladly edit the Summary description of the image but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm new to Wikipedia - I only signed up to change that one image. I felt as the original mistake was mine, I had a responsibility to correct it. As for writing an article on Lydia Thompson, I'm worried that once I write one article, I'll be on a slippery slope! And I spend enough of my time on the Internet already!

Just click here: Image:Marie wilton.jpg
Then, click on the edit buttons on the right side of the text that you want to edit. Come on, you know it's a crime that there's no article on Thompson. This knowledge will gnaw at you until you just have to write the article. Muahahahahahahaha! Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:05, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
