Talk:Jab
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm not sure this page is right. It says 'the three main punches' but neglects to mention "the cross". There are four main punches in boxing: Jab, Cross, Hook and Uppercut. Also the definition of the jab is not correct. It is really "a straight punch thrown from the boxers lead arm" whereas the current definition just talks about distance.
[edit] Jab definition
I agree with the precedent comment...The jab is not only defined by its range but most importantly by the fact that it comes from the LEADING HAND. I suggest we add this point to the definition as well as Sonny Liston in the famous boxers for their jabs.
Cheers:)
[edit] Sonny Liston
Sorry for my blunder in the previous comment...Sonny Liston is already there! Cheers:)

"Jabbing is all to do with timing. If you're throwing jabs at the right time, you can be 5'6" and out jab a guy who's 6'4"." video Shawnc 01:45, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
