Jabi Tehnan

Jabi Tehnan is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mirab Gojjam Zone, Jabi Tehnan is bordered on the southeast by Dembecha, on the west by Bure Wemberma, on the northwest by Sekela, on the north by Kuarit, and on the east by Bibugn. Towns in Jabi Tehnan include Finote Selam, Jiga, Maksegnit and Mankusa.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 272,026, of whom 136,042 were males and 135,984 were females; 42,614 or 15.67% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 7.6%. With an estimated area of 1,230.94 square kilometers, Jabi Tehnan has an estimated population density of 221 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 174.47.[1]
