The city of Jaén is the capital of the Jaén Province in the Cajamarca Region of Peru. At an altitude of 740 meters above sea level it is considered part of the northern Sierra region of Peru. It has a warm and humid climate. Temperatures fluctuate between 15 and 33 degrees Celsius. Rice is the main crop grown in the area.
