User:J Milburn/D&D monster image fair use rationale

[edit] Fair use rationale for use in [monster name]
- It is an accurate portrayal of what the monster looks like, as Wizards of the Coast designed the monster and published this picture to demonstrate it.
- Creating a free alternative would be impossible, as then it would be an unrelated artist's interpretation of the monster, and not what the monster 'actually looks like', therefore constituting original research.
- This image adds significantly to the article, providing an image of the monster, where only a description of its appearance existed before.
- Critical commentary is provided on the appearance of the monster, and therefore the image.
- It is of a significantly lower resolution than the original image, thus respecting Wizards of the Coast's right to commercial gain from the image, and not limiting their ability to sell it at all.
- The image is available in a higher quality format from the Wizards of the Coast website, for free, thus use in this manner does not offer anything freely which would normally have to be purchased.
- The image is used for non-profit, educational use.
