[edit] Images on BB7 Houseguests

Uh, why are you removing those images? I mean, it says right on there, consult the talk page before doing so. The images add a lot to the article. FireSpike 01:16, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Too many images violate fair use. It has been discussed here and here already. J Ditalk 01:22, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for uploading the BBBM logo.. couldn't find a copy of the show.. ANYWHERE. Plus, all the ones on YouTube had the credits cut out. :P -Mikay 17:29, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Heh, no problem. Goodness knows why I even recorded it, it's not as though I even watched it... J Ditalk 17:31, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stingray

Hey, amigo, Who will care in 2008 that a person was killed by a stingray on Sept. 4th as opposed to in Sept. 2006. Write for the future. Don't change this again please. Direct your efforts to other areas that are meaningful. Rossp 16:06, 4 September 2006 (UTC)rossp

Excuse me? I don't know what you're on about, and if anything the date should be [[September 4]] [[2006]]. J Ditalk 16:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree with J Di here, it should state the full date. Just a tiny amount of extra information gives future readers a lot more accuracy when reading up on past events. Many times I have read articles here on wiki and other places and it simply says the month when I really want to know the exact date. Thinkharder 17:07, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

You are right, rossp - write for the future. That means letting the future reader decide for themeselves which details are significant and which not, and not have your assessment foisted on them. We have the benefit of knowing now. What the future knows will depend entirely on what we pass on to it... Cain Mosni 17:51, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] No title - Mocap

I see your diligence and fairness doesn't extend towards removing the Vicon Name from the image at motion capture Please restore my confidence that you aren't just stalking me. Tmcsheery 23:34, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Diligence and fairness? Stalking!? Please assume good faith; I don't have a clue what you're talking about. I can't find the word "vicon" anywhere in the Motion capture article, so you'd have to point it out to me. J Ditalk 23:46, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

(I think this fits in here, but I hadn't read this message until after I wrote the reply below — J Di) See the image at the top? This is what I thought started the whole problem. Our logo was bigger than that one. But I notice despite the purge of anything I've done, that logo is still there, and is now the only corporate respresentation on the page. Tmcsheery 00:03, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Ah, now I see it. There's a difference between providing a free image for use in a non-profit encyclopaedia article and self-promotion, and I think this image was uploaded and used with the intention of educating those that read the article. If you still think this logo should be removed from the image, you could always do it yourself as long as you don't violate the GFDL license, or ask the original uploader to do it if they don't have a problem with doing so. J Ditalk 00:04, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Ah just delete all this. I see 1Canuck already did the job. My browser just hadn't updated. The world is at balance. Thanks.Tmcsheery 00:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Okay then. Just so you know, you should use colons to indent your messages on talk pages, not asterisks. Also, you shouldn't continue a conversation on more than one talk page unless there's a good reason. J Ditalk 00:32, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Ah. Exactly how many talk pages am I using? I seem to be thinking one, maybe I didn't update my browser again. Anyway, sorry to bother you about a noop.Tmcsheery 00:54, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
You were using two - mine and yours, but I guess it's kinda my fault as I carried the conversation on here hoping it would stay here... J Ditalk 09:57, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually I was just using one. You were using both. You copied my edits into my own page, and assumed I had made them. Note the edits. I was just trying to be polite. Still am. Tmcsheery 14:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I meant. I wasn't sure that you'd see the reply on my talk page, so I copied the conversation here to try and carry it on here. Anyway, everything's been sorted, I hope, so there's no need to carry on this conversation? J Ditalk 14:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually now you and 1Canuck need to be diligent and keep the playing field level. Now that you've opened that can of worms, it would look like I was vandalizing competitors by removing links that they add. I note that Gait analysis and Motion Capture plugs have already been added by Xsens. There is more to fairness than just a one time act. Now you need to be diligent and police the site daily. Sigh. As I said before, as long as the playing field is level I really don't care, but if you are going to remove our plugs you have to keep removing the others. Tmcsheery 14:29, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Here is a link [1] now you are an expert on Motion Capture.Tmcsheery 04:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I didn't mean to do that, you comment wasn't there when I started typing and I didn't get a message conflict warning. TJ Spyke 03:00, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AFC Wizard complete

The AFC Wizard Proof of concept is complete at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Wizard. Its just a PoC, so there's a few redlinks in there and the whole thing needs a coat of spit and polish, but its current purpose is to demonstrate the idea. I would love your feedback! -- ShinmaWa(talk) 20:33, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Wow, that's pretty impressive. The general appearance is good, everything is laid out nicely, but I'm not too sure about the {{policy in a nutshell}} templates, as what's below it is already pretty summarised. The only thing I would change, and it's not even anything major, is the link to Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Wizard-Not notable on Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Wizard-Company Notability. I think it might be better if it were changed to two separate buttons, one for non-notability and one for advertising; or if Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Wizard-Not notable were re-written slightly to include advertising. Also, it might help if Image:ArticlesForCreationEntry.JPG included the save page button, unless it was left out for a reason. Oh, and one last thing, perhaps the tabs could link to certain pages so that people can go back? Apart from that, it is really good, I'm sure it'll help a lot of people once it's finished. J Ditalk 20:55, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Infobox Mobile

Oh, I didn't realize I made some mistakes. I just changed it a bit again because size and imagesize are not really the same thing. —Jared Hunt September 12, 2006, 00:02 (UTC)

[edit] TV Lover

You said: "Whoa, major reverting going on there. Would it be okay if I asked why?"

Absolutely. The content was created by an abusive sockpuppet created to avoid an indefinite block. Wikipedia policy is to block such an abusive sockpuppet and revert all the changes. The goal is to discourage users from creating further abusive sockpuppets because any edits they make are pointless. And thanks for asking about this; if my reverts were not justified, it would show probable abuse on my part. --Yamla 14:40, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ivette Corredero

I didn't get the reasoning for removing her pic from the subsection her. I would glad if you could elaborate it. Unitedroad 08:26, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I thought it might look a bit biased having an image of only one houseguest in the whole article. J Ditalk 08:34, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birmingham Bullring image alignment

Sorry that my edit to the Bullring, Birmingham article caused you to revert your edits of the image alignment. Thank you for your enthusiasm and edit to the article and I am aware it was all in good faith. This was just an apology. Thank you and keep editing =] - Erebus555 18:27, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I should be apologising to you, for editing the article so soon after you made an edit to it. J Ditalk 18:28, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

This Bronze Wiki award is awarded to J Di for his tireless work to WP:BIGBRO.

WP:BIGBRO has become very successful since you got here, and your tireless edits to Wikipedia warrant a great award. More than a barnstar. A Golden Wiki? Not quite, but still a great award. I award you, J Di, the Bronze Wiki. FireSpike 02:02, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Awesome! J Ditalk 20:49, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your "test1" warning to User:Treybien

I'm not a friend of Treybien's. His Talk Page just happens to be on my watchlist because I left him a message explaining why it's a good idea to use edit summaries.

As a result, I saw your edit to his Talk Page admonishing him about his "test" on the Nikki Grahame article. I checked out the diff's and didn't see any vandalism. Can you explain what you were referring to? thanx.

--Richard 04:35, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, the {{test1}} was for this edit, but looking at the edit he made before it now, it looks like that edit may have been a mistake. I'm going to leave a message on his talk page about it. Thanks for asking about it, I wouldn't have seen that otherwise. J Ditalk 09:48, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question unrelated to our hot dog discussion...

Are you a Big Brother fan? I've watched all 7 seasons of the stateside edition (for better or worse). We had the all-star version this season, and it was super lame. Unfortunately, the US version rewards mediocrity, since the fans do not vote on eviction. Cheers and keep up the good work. youngamerican (ahoy-hoy) 16:15, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm a bit of a fan. I've watched some Big Brother UK, but I think Big Brother Australia is more interesting to watch. jd || talk || 16:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
