[edit] Thanks
I like how people can delete things from this discussion, however others can't. I like how democratic this place is. LOL. 68.224.12.128 (talk) 14:05, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Talk pages are for discussion about how to improve an article. Comments unrelated to that goal should be removed. --Onorem♠Dil 14:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Perfect then it should stay a place to make it better not disrepect the subject of the article. I am a fan of J.Son and I am happy to see him have a page here. Lets work together to make it great. Thanks! 68.224.12.128 (talk) 14:22, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] absolute mess
this article is a mess. nothing is referenced inline, and much of the content cannot be referenced. the creator and so far primary editor of this article appears to be the subject of the article, which presents a likely WP:COI. virtually every claim in the article is disputable because it lacks WP:RS. Thanks to everyone for helping make this article a better one. 68.224.12.128 (talk) 23:11, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- i give up. or maybe not. but the article is still a mess. i've tried fixing it, creating properly formatted citations, but practically every citation in the article is from self-published sources, none of which are reliable per WP:RS. the broadwayworld.com site is all user submitted info, with no editorial oversight. dinant himself keeps posting a ten second clip of three silhouettes saying something about 'the new funny', but nobody is identifiable in the clip, and youtube almost without exception is not acceptable as a WP:RS. i say 'dinant himself' because the account that created this article, and that keeps editing it (in violation of WP:COI) is named "TheNewFunny". this is pathetic - dinant is attempting to pump up his career by giving himself more notability than he actually has. this violates so many WP policies it's not even funny. the good news is, having an article here will not help his career. you can't fake talent. steve martin didn't need to create a page about himself to achieve greatness. if dinant has talent - and i won't pass judgement on that - then that will propel his career, not this shill piece. i object to the article purely on the grounds that it pollutes wikipedia with faux notability. - Take a few moments and google J.Son Dinant [1] You will see about a thousand sites, some self-published and others not. He has notablity and not faux notability. He is an actor and comedian seen on several national TV shows in the United States. He has won national awards and recognition for his charitable work and comedy. Thanks for your concern though. 68.224.12.128 (talk) 21:29, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

- sorry, but google result counts hold no weight on wikipedia, because they're not a reliable measure. btw, if you filter the results to eliminate identical and near-identical pages, you get 76. Totie Fields, a minor but notable comic who died nearly thirty years ago, has nearly 40,000 as the result on google - and her page is a fraction of the size of this one. i stand by faux notability.Anastrophe (talk) 06:50, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] a note to J. Son Dinant
1. you should not be editing this article about you. it constitutes a clear conflict of interest, and also bumps right up against "ownership" of an article. 2. you should not remove other editor's commentary from the article talk page. this also constitutes a conflict of interest, and again hits the ownership issue, and is also a violation of wikipedia policy. unless a person places commentary here that has nothing to do with the article, it should never be removed. doing so constitutes vandalism, and can result in your being blocked from editing the article. using sock puppets in the form of anonymous IP addresses does not skirt the issue.
thank you. Anastrophe (talk) 07:46, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not J.Son
Well this isn't J.Son, thanks though for your undercover police work. (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 20:35, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
This is not J.Son Dinant. This is a family member of J.Son's in NY and helping create this wikipedia page for his TV and comedy carreer. I'm new to this site and trying to figure it out. It would be nice to see people here politie and helpful... thanks!
- you have a conflict of interest in editing here. wikipedia is not for promotion - "helping create this wikipedia page for his TV and comedy carreer[sic]" is a violation of policy. this is an encyclopedia, not a tool for advertising. i'm sorry you find my comments impolite, but a firm hand is sometimes more helpful than coddling. please cease editing this article - you have a conflict of interest in doing so.
