Wikipedia Article: The article I used the image in or the article I want to use the image in.

Photo Author: The Flickr user who created the image.

Image's Flickr Page: The image's page on Flickr.

Status: There are five possible options for status:

  1. Free Image: The image already had an appropriate license to begin with.
  2. Accepted: The image's owner licensed the image under a free license after being requested to.
  3. Pending: No response to my request has been received.
  4. Expired: I got tired of waiting for a response.
  5. Denied: The user responded saying they did not want to license their image for free use.

Image's Wikipedia Page: The image's page on Wikipedia. (if image was uploaded)

Start Date: This is the date of the original request.

End Date: Depending on the result of the request, this may mean several things:

  1. Accepted: The date the image was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
  2. Expired: The date I got tired of waiting for a response.
  3. Denied: The date the image's owner notified me that they did not want to license their image for free use.

Start Date and End Date: If the image already had an appropriate license to begin with, the date shown is the date the image was uploaded to Commons.

Photo relicensed with a non-commercial license almost immediately after I sent the request. Photo owner notified within 5 minutes that Wikipedia images cannot have non-commercial licenses. 9 days passed with no response.

Photo owner emailed me saying that while he would be willing to license the image for one-time use on Wikipedia, he did not want to license his image for free commercial use.

Photo owner said they would create an account and upload their image themselves.
