Jae Yeon Hwang (also credited as J. Y. Hwang) born 22 May 1978, in Seoul, South Korea, is a current Communications student at University of Technology, Sydney: Insearch, Australia. Hwang is an amateur film director and writer, who hopes to some day become a successful and well-known film director of his time.
Hwang has already successfully produced a number of music videos and illustrative short videos. “Suddenly I See” sung by KT Tunstall was Hwang’s first music video completed May 2007. It incorporates his own backgrounds of famous places in Sydney and stars Kyoung Jin Kim (KJ) and his K5 Samsung music player. Inspired by the book “To My Best Tree for the Lime Orange”, Hwang completed his second video “My Lime-Green K3” in June 2007, which includes illustrated pictures from the book and his own K3 Samsung music player.
Hwang has directed his first short film since April 2008. The film, The Ticket which is captured the elements between life and death and focused on the choices we make to continue living or to embrace death, will be showcased in May 2008 on his official website.
