Talk:J. E. Kenny
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I noticed that a tag was added on 7 May 2007 suggesting that this article does not cite any sources. This is quite untrue. A very precise list of sources is given at the foot of the article. This includes the precise dates of newspapers cited; The Times can be checked on line. Also the books cited have indexes in which the references to J. E. Kenny can be found. In my view footnotes should be reserved for instances where there are conflicts between the sources and a judgment needs to be made about which to accept. Otherwise there is too much clutter of footnotes. I have added a footnote about the date of Kenny's election as Coroner since in this case there is a conflict between The Times of 1892 and the Freeman's Journal of 1900, in which The Times is obviously correct because of its date. I have therefore removed the 'no reference' tag. Jim Kinnaird
