J. David Singer

J. David Singer is an American professor of political science. He was born in New York on December 7th, 1925. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a doctoral degree from New York University.

His major contribution was the Correlates of War project, which he began in 1964 at the University of Michigan. It is a major database of statistics relating to war and its causes.
