J. C. Monahan

Jennifer Catherine "J.C." Monahan is an American meteorologist, currently employed at ABC's Boston affiliate WCVB, which she joined in September 2001. She appears on the weekday editions of The EyeOpener and the midday newscasts.
She began her career as News Director for WZON-AM in Bangor, Maine. It was there that she earned awards from the Associated Press and Maine Association of Broadcasters (for Best Radio Newscast and Best Series Reporting).
Monahan then moved south to become the weekend forecaster and entertainment reporter for WPXT-TV in Portland, Maine, before serving as the weekend meteorologist for NECN.
Monahan has a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Maine. She graduated from Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology program. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. In 2004, she was awarded the AMS Seal of Approval in recognition of her professionalism in weather forecasting and reporting.
In April 2006, it was announced that Monahan was pregnant, due in October. "I'm having a little weather-watcher," the Newton, Massachusetts resident announced.
She gave birth to her first child, a girl, on October 18, 2006.[citation needed]
