Talk:J-M Reef
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is silly! J-M Reef is just a geological concept. Is it considered a company, and can not be listed? It's just a piece of rock for crying out loud! If entries like this need to be flagged out, then nothing should even exist in wikipedia! Silverbach 23:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- If it's just a piece of rock , then it is non-notable. If it is a piece of rock with which you have a financial connection, then it is WP:COI. Using this stub about just a piece of rock to promote a mining company is COI and WP:SPAM.
- Now the Stillwater igneous complex is a notable geologic topic and does deserve a Wikipedia article - it's on my over-long to do list - sometime. However the J-M Reef doesn't yet have the notability of the Merensky Reef and so doesn't really qualify for an independent article. If the commercial hype provided by the Stillwater mining co. can be verified by some peer reviewed, non-promotional reference, then it deserves a section in an article covering the Stillwater complex. - Replace prod and coi tags as article creator above has not sufficiently addressed the problem. Vsmith 01:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
