[edit] Discography

  • Sweet little nothing, J-five 2004
  • Summer, Johnny Five 2004

His first album, «Summer» by «Johnny five» outline a personality impregnated with his passion for rap (in particular the avant-garde experiences lead by DJ Shadow, Blakcalicious or Lyrics Born), his musical heritage (one uncle fan of the Beatles, a father fan of blues and of the Stones) and a tendency for the sonic deluges of grunge...[1]

He chosed his pseudo "J-Five" when he begun to participate to rap battles. It is a short cut for Johnny 5, the name of the little robot in his favorite movie "Short Circuit".

Modern Times

J-Five begun his solo career in 2004 with the first single "Modern Times". In this song, he pays tribute to Charlie Chaplin.[2].

A music video was realised to illustrate this track, playing the review of the movie «Modern Times» in New York in 1936, with the exclusive participation of Dolores Chaplin, the granddaughter of the famous actor.

In November 2004, J-Five released his album «Sweet Little Nothing», a mixture of rock, rap, funk, jazz and folk tones. A song “Find a Way”, which was released as a single in Europe, became a massive airplay hit in Russia in 2005.[3].
