Júlio César da Silva e Souza (born February 26, 1980 in Itaguai) is a Brazilian football player, currently performing for Greek side, AEK Athens F.C., having joined them from Gil Vicente FC, in 2005. Julio cesar scored against Hearts in the champions league qualifires in both legs. He was the scorer in the 1-1 draw against RSC Anderlecht for the second game of the group phase in the 2006-07 Champions League Campaign. Júlio César scored again in the famous 1-0 win against AC Milan in front of 60.000 spectators in the Olympic Stadium with a direct free kick. This great player has struggled in the 2007-2008 season and was lost in the shuffle through the two coaches AEK has had. After mostly being on the pitch as a substitute, there would be games where César wouldn't even be on the bench. There are talks of him transfering to either Greek clubs PAOK FC, Larissa FC or the Cypriot club APOEL FC.
