Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) or Internationella Handelshögskolan (IHH) is a business school with a strong focus on studies in entrepreneurship, SME and family businesses, and business renewal.
Located in south central Sweden, the school is part of Jönköping University Foundation which was established in 1994. JIBS offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in business administration, economics, informatics, political science, and commercial law. It has extensive exchange programs and more than 200 partner universities worldwide. Coursework is primarily in English and international students are admitted to all programs and as exchange students. Of the 2000 students in the school, approximately 500 are from outside of Sweden.
[edit] Education
JIBS offers education at all three university levels:
- Undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree (Swedish: Kandidatexamen). These programs are three years long.
- Master programs leading to a Master of Science degree (Swedish: Masterexamen). These programs are two year long and require a completed bachelor's degree for entry.
- Doctoral Programs leading to a Ph.D.
In addition there is also a vocational degree Civilekonomexamen, which represents a four year long program (comparable to an undergraduate program plus one year of masterlevel studies) focused around finance and accounting or economics (depending on the chosen specialization) and is primarily taught in Swedish.
The following undergraduate programs are offered (fall 2007):
- Business and IT Management
- International Economics and Policy
- International Management
- Commercial Law (Affärsjuristprogrammet, taught in Swedish)
