Jõgeva is a small town in Estonia with a population of around 6000 people. It is the administrative centre of Jõgeva County.

Jõgeva became a borough in October 13, 1919 and a town in May 1, 1938. It is known as the coldest place in Estonia. It is the birthplace of Estonian poet Betti Alver.
