This story says Sept 8:

POLONIA: HA COMPIUTO 118 ANNI L'UOMO PIU' VECCHIO D'EUROPA = E RIVENDICA IL PRIMATO MONDIALE ASSEGNATO A UN'AMERICANA

Varsavia, 8 set.

I don't think I have enough knowledge to make proper claim. I just saw article in Polish wikipedia, translated it into English, and then found two Polish web pages with information about Józef Piotrowski. The additional information included in those two articles is, that Mr. Piotrowski began learning playing organ in 1905, his first teacher was priest Kartonowicz, that he for 4 year lies in bed, because of sore legs, and that he is interested in Polish politics :). Greetings:

Regarding this claim:

His birth certificate is in the possession of the Franciscans in Svisloch (currently part of Belarus).

I am the gerontology consultant for Guinness World Records. If anyone would like to submit copies of these documents which are alleged to exist, please contact me at ryoung122@yahoo.com. → R Young {yakłtalk} 07:20, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
