Józef Sołtanowicz

Józef Sołtanowicz (21 May 1780, Vilnius - 1 August 1859, Vilnius) - was a Napoleonic Officer and a Polish[citation needed] nobleman (szlachcic).

He became cavalry officer (Szwoleżerowie) in the Polish Army during the Napoleonic Wars. After the war he lived till the death in his Sołtaniszki Palace on the outskirts of Vilnius. He wrote 4 books about the Napoleon's Campaigns and his life as Napoleonic Officer.

He was also an adept of 33 grade in Higher Grades Masonic Lodge.
