User:Jéské Couriano/Recall criteria and procedure

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the event that I should be continually acting in a manner unbecoming of an administrator, others should have the power to get my tools revoked.

However, there are some criteria that must be met first before recall should even be considered, and then there is a procedure that must be followed.

Criteria

  1. Users must have tried (and failed) to get me to stop the offending behavior, either through warnings on my talk page or the talk page of the areas where I am committing the behavior. If there is no proof someone has tried to stop me, it can be hard to say that there is a problem. Further, I tend to be very responsive to messages on my TP.
  2. At least two active uninvolved users, each with at least six months' tenure, must bring the complaint. I have rubbed a few users the wrong way largely due to the SIHULM meme debates, and this is so that users who hate or are in dispute with me have a harder time bringing frivolous recall requests against me.
  3. The actions taken need not involve administrative tools. You can certify a recall against me for anything from adding vandalism to George W. Bush to rolling back Alison (talk · contribs)'s edits.
  4. Some key notes. I do not use, nor will I ever use, automated scripts such as Twinkle or AWB. Further, there are some subject areas I will not touch any further than protection requests due to personal bias (such as political articles). Lastly, inactivity is not a recall reason.

Procedure

If the criteria above are met, the users bringing the complaint next move to User:Jéské Couriano/Recall, where the framework for filing a complaint will be present. These users then fill out the framework, providing the diffs asking for me to stop and diffs of the problem in question in the areas provided.

When I notice that the recall has been filled out, I will then post on AN and AN/I informing other users of the recall and linking to it, if you have not already taken the liberties of doing so.

The recall will be open for one week from the date the complaint was brought, whereupon any autoconfirmed user can comment. At the end of that week, a neutral party will determine the consensus. If consensus is to recall, I will ask that my administrative privileges are revoked. If consensus is against recall or not present, I will change the behavior that led to the recall proceeding. In any instance, I will archive the recall three days after it closes and move it into an archive.
