Jérôme Leroy (born November 4, 1974 in Béthune, France) is a French footballer currently playing for Rennes as a midfielder.

Other clubs he has played for include Stade Lavallois, Olympique Marseille, and En Avant Guingamp. He also represented giants Paris Saint-Germain on three different occasions.

In 1996 Leroy won the Cup Winners Cup with Paris St-Germain. In 2003 he reached the French Cup final, also with PSG, before finally reaching promised land with FC Sochaux in the same competition (2007).

[edit] Stint in Israel

Luis Fernandez, Leroy's former mentor at Paris St-Germain, brought him to Teddy Kollek Memorial Stadium in December of 2005 from French club RC Lens, beating off competition from French giants Marseille.

During Leroy's short time in Israel he became somewhat of an icon. In his league debut against rivals Bnei Sakhnin, the match ended in an altercation between fans and a 0-0 result.

On June 25, 2006, Beitar took off from Ben Gurion International Airport on an El Al flight to the Netherlands for preseason training. Leroy chose not to join the team opting to check options of staying in France for the 2006-07 season[1]. Sochaux made it clear that they were interested in Leroy and a deal was worked out. The following season he joined Rennes.
