Talk:János Garay
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Garay was my great granduncle. According to his nephew, my grandfather, after the 1848 Revolution John Garay was condemned to live in a hut by the road and beg for food. No one was permitted to talk with him as Hapsburg spies would ensure they would be murdered for disobeying the Hapsburg punishment. He died from starvation and cold. Since he came from a large and well educated family I can not imagine how painful this must have been for his relatives to see this great poet suffer so much and not be allowed to talk with him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.49.75.59 (talk) 22:15, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
