Jákup Mikkelsen (born 14 August 1970 in Klaksvík) is a Faroese football goalkeeper, currently playing for local team B36 Tórshavn. He signed a new deal with his youth club Kí Klaksvík in late 2007

Mikkelsen started as a goalkeeper and midfielder at KÍ Klaksvík, before moving abroad to play for several years in Denmark and Norway. After a short spell at Scottish side Partick Thistle he returned to the Faroe Islands. In the 1999/2000 season, he only missed 2 games in Herfølge BK's title winning season and he played both games against Rangers in their 2000/2001 Champions League qualifying round and 4 more games in the UEFA Cup that season.

He made his debut for the Faroe Islands in a July 1995 friendly match against Iceland and has since earned 51 caps. [1]
