Izberbash

Izberbash (Russian: Избербаш) is a town in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, located on the coast of the Caspian Sea 56 km south-east of Makhachkala. Population: 39,365 (2002 census), up from 28,122 at the 1989 census). A majority (57%) of the poulation are Dargins.

Founded in 1932 as an oil extraction settlement. Town status since 1949.
