in the bible it goes by the number, i.e. something like "in the eighth month, on the second day" etc. only in the book of kings (I think thats the first appearance, but it may be even later) do any names for the months get used at all. -Shyisc 22:42, 10 June 2007 (UTC) the counting of months in the Jewish calendar starts with month #1, which is nissan, the month of spring.
