IVT Terminal Emulator

IVT Terminal Emulator is a highly configurable communications program by BearStar Software. It is a tool used when connecting to other computers, bulletin board systems (BBSs), and a host of other Internet-related services. IVT supports scripting.

IVT is designed to emulate various types of text terminal. It supports SSH-2, Kerberized telnet, RLOGIN, NETBIOS and SERIAL protocols.[citation needed] Besides TELNET and SSH, it can be configured to make a connection through a modem or directly over a serial port. Various serial parameters are configurable such as:

IVT supports various terminal protocols such as VT100 (ANSI X3.64). It also supports various forms of file transfer protocols such as ASCII, XMODEM, YMODEM, and ZMODEM.

IVT is available in 2 versions: a free and a non-free version. The non-free version, which incorporates code from PuTTY is secure. The PuTTY-code is used for implementing SSH-capabilities.
