Ivo Kahanek

Ivo Kahanek (born 1979) is a Czech pianist regarded as one of the most gifted Czech musicians of his generation (in 2005 he was nominated on International New Talent Award ([New Talent]).
He studied at the Janacek Conservatory in Ostrava (Marta Toaderova) and in Prague at the Prague Academy of Music with (Ivan Klansky). He also attended masterclasses of world famous pianist (notably Eugéne Indjic, Alicia de Larrocha and Christian Zacharias). He earned several prestigious prizes, including his celebrated win at the International Prague Spring Competition in 2004. He was only the third Czech to obtain that award (after Zdenek Hnat and Martin Kasik).
Since 2006 he's been member of the faculty at the „International Kubalek Piano Courses“.
