[edit] Photo?

I've read Kinch was considered the finest test pilot of his generation. Is it true he was black? (I confess ignorance...) Is a pic available? Trekphiler 00:04, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Black? I'm wondering if you're thinking of the fictional character of Ivan Kinchloe from TV's Hogan's Heroes (potentially a tribute to the real Kincheloe)? Greg Salter 16:59, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Mention of "The Right Stuff" made me think of Gus Grissom's middle name. I'm guessing all traces of Ivan will soon disappear. -- Jeandré, 2007-06-25t17:59z

[edit] Kincheloe AFB.closure

The date of the base closure is listed as October, 1971. I was stationed there from October 1973 to June 1977. I believe the base closed in October, 1977
