Ivette Maritza Sosa (born September 15, 1976) was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, but later relocated to Edison, New Jersey, U.S. Ivette found she had a passion for stage and she began dancing at 3 years old. She attended High School at Bishop George Ahr High School. She participated in many high school plays, and even helped choreograph a number of them as well. In 1998, she went to earn her BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College.

She recently appeared on Broadway as an understudy in the short-lived production of Latinologues, directed by Cheech Marin. She was also a member of the now defunct pop group, Eden's Crush, who were formed after winning the American version of Popstars.

However, before she tried out to be a popstar on the WB show 'Popstars,' Ivette was in a West Side Story production in Italy. She was offered a part in Rent the same day she found out that she was one of the lucky 5 who made the 'Popstars' group. She chose the group instead, and went on to record a full length CD with Eden's Crush.

Sosa is currently starring as Anita in Portland Center Stage's inaugural production of "West Side Story".
