Iver Steen Thomle

Iver Steen Thomle (born 1 March 1812 in Froland, died 16 September 1889 in Kristiania) was Norwegian jurist.

He graduated from the University of Christiania in 1833. For a period he worked at the lawyer office of Frederik Stang. He was later hired in the Ministry of Justice. In 1849 he became County Governor of Nedenes (today: Aust-Agder), a post he held until 1860. He acted as a temporary Minister of Justice in 1857.

In 1860 he became a supreme court judge, advancind to the position of Chief Justice in 1879. He held the position until 1886; as such he was a part of the impeachment trial against the cabinet Selmer in 1883-1884. In 1879 he was declared a Juris Doctor at the University of Copenhagen.
