[edit] Internationalization
Specifically, this line: These countries also pay €0.99 for songs, and all these stores share the same catalog and are available only in English. The French, German, American, and British stores are localized for their respective countries and have different catalogs.
This is inaccurate because the Austrian, Italian, and Spanish stores all have some level of localization put to them now (as does the Japanese store). Also, the stores no longer share the same catalog. I think this section should undergo some serious revision; is the entire history of each store necessary? Simply listing available stores and the dates they went online would probably be enough.
[edit] iTunes store picture
They have changed the movie column on the left of it to "rentals". Someone fix it please!
[edit] Raw protocol analysis
I was looking for some information on how Itune works and I felt this is missing from the article. My interest on this was to fix a network issue. Anyway, if I get time, I will try to mention it.
Itune uses DAAP and http for data transfer. Looks like DAAP is used to access the music database and http is used to transfer the music content. This is from a brief googling and that is why I would be putting this information on the front page. Wikipedia though still have the necessary information, only intergration that isn't right See Digital Audio Access Protocol
[edit] artist revenue?
There isn't a single reference to the percentage that, through a mp3 purchase, the artist gets. I've read non-official references that put the percentage below 3%, which means that the artist earns less per download than the credit card companies --Mecanismo | Talk 18:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- This would be an extremely valuable section of the article, if proper references could be provided. I remember Weird Al Yankovic mentioning that he received substantially more money from CD sales than from the iTunes Store per album. This would not only be a useful aid in comparing various online stores, but is also important encyclopedic information about the online stores themselves. -kslays (talk) 20:29, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] if we don't have a credit card
So if you don't have a credit card does that mean that we can't buy any songs? $$MONEY~BAGS$$ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.138.21.46 (talk) 05:01, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] iPod games section
The "iPod games" section is just a long string of repetitive sentences which tend to only repeat the content of the full article (linked to) on the subject. Shouldn't this section be condensed/summarized? Jeremy Avalon (talk) 22:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Quoting Pricing vs. WP:NOT a Sales catalog
WP:NOT#DIRECTORY is pretty explicit here: Wikipedia is not a sales catalog. Therefore without justification, there can be no pricing within Wikipedia, and yet pricing from all over the world is all over this article. I can't see it being allowed. The only justified pricing would be a mention that it was the iTunes Music Store was founded with the unprecedented price of 99 cents per song with no monthly fees, which was very different from any of the previous subscription model. -- KelleyCook (talk) 21:47, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't find the mention of the prices problematic (and to only mention the US sales price would be rather unbalanced), though having references that compared prices in each location with other music options would be helpful. However, the long lists of content in various stores (particularly for movies) does come closer to being a sales catalog and could use some trimming. Gusworld (talk) 08:00, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Using Wikipedia for comparison shopping is precisely WHY pricing is considered problematic. -- KelleyCook (talk) 10:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Call for expanding iTunes U
I just found out about iTunes U and it was like finding a $5,000 lottery ticket. Apparently no body knows about it, as I have went to MCAT message boards and everyone's like "no never heard of it". It has amazing science review! Sentriclecub (talk) 11:52, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] What??
What the hell is this?? "The iTunes store is not available in the Philippines, but some people there get to buy files." That happens everywhere in the world. In every country... I say, that has nothing to do in the article. I'm going to delete it.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.146.122.115 (talk) 22:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
